Well, That’s Pretty Dope – Inspirational Work
As the years pass by I appreciate unique & creative design more & more. Design that challenges the status quo when it comes to the visual side of our work. Here’s a brief collection of designs that I can stare at for quite some time 😉

Starting of with https://www.lunchbox.io. At first sight it seems like we’re looking at ‘something completely different’ than what we’re used to. But if we look a little longer we notice it’s just the individual elements that are different. The layout is very recognizable: a big centered heading, a paragraph, an image below, and a CTA in the top right. Yet by thinking carefully about each element they created an inspirational design.

In this second example, we see several trends coming together, combined they work great and succeed in inspiring me. The basic shapes we see more often (think stars in different styles, such as the one beside the title), and secondly the color-on-color idea (pink on red). All together, pretty dope if you ask me.

Personally, I’m used to some basic design tricks to make a design look nice, such as, always having some outer margins in your design to make it breath. Or, use cards to group elements. The following design has a unique way of accomplishing order (to prevent chaos) and maintaining a scannable design (which is pleasant to look at as well).

Last but not least we have Palantir.com
We’ve seen modular layouts like this before, but I still appreciate the idea of having full width blocks, with little padding in between. Usually I’m tempted to create a lot of margin between sections to maintain order & minimalism in my design, but here they have seemed to accomplish this a different way.
